I reorganized my bedroom a little today. It's interesting how the most minimal changes can give a room a whole different feel and look. And that's pretty refreshing when you try to squeeze a queen-sized bed, a deluxe crib, and dressers into one room! When Hubby and I first moved here in April 2007, we vowed it would be only for one year. The apartment is nice, but the neighborhood id crappy. We live on the outskirts of an industrial area, and unless you venture out of the immediate area, there's really not much to it. So in the course of a year, I really haven't allowed myself to get too "settled". Meaning, I haven't done much decorating. And besides, I saw it impractical to spend extra money since I figured we wouldn't be here too long, anyway. Since, at the moment, our length of stay here is indefinite, I figured I'd do a little sprucing up for the Spring. Maybe buy some new towels and bedsheets, put up new curtains. I mean, we might as well be comfortable while we're here, right?
And in the spirit of "sprucing up", I definitely want to do my own, personal preparing. Every year, when the season changes, I think about maybe changing my hair color (nothing drastic), shopping (of course!), and getting my skin ready for the season. Ladies, I know you feel me on the shaving, waxing, moisturizing and bronzing! (lol)
It's a lot of work, but it's what we do if we want to show off some skin! I started taking inventory of what makeup, lotions, and other beauty products I still possess and realized that because of my teenage daughter, who seems to think everything I buy is free for her use, I really don't have much of anything left in stock. So I guess I can justify a little spree at the local beauty supply outlet :-). And maybe even a quick run through Macy's , Sephora, and M.A.C. (I get dizzy just walking past them lol). Anyway, enough with the girly stuff. I'm sure you fellas have your own pre-summer rituals, too!Right now, I'm just waiting for the weather to get better. Last week, we were in the warm, steamy 70's here in NYC, and this week, we're in the cool, rainy 50's. But it is still Spring, so....
Anyway, I'd love to hear about what you do to prepare either your home, or yourself for the warmer seasons. I know I'm not the only one who gets giddy at the first signs of Spring!
